Independent Contractor & Compensation Guide
Independent Contractor & Compensation Guide
Please read this page carefully before participating in the Doms Mattress Apartment Outreach Program.
1. Independent Contractor Status
Apartment Outreach Representatives participate as independent contractors.
You are not an employee of Doms Mattress. Participation in this program does not create an employer-employee relationship.
You are responsible for managing your own schedule and completing outreach in accordance with the program guidelines.
2. Commission
Eligible representatives earn 10% of the qualifying order subtotal for eligible sales generated through participating apartment communities they establish.
- Commission is based on the order subtotal before taxes and shipping.
- Only completed and eligible orders qualify for commission.
- Cancelled, refunded, fraudulent, or otherwise ineligible orders do not qualify for commission.
3. Payment Schedule
Commissions are paid once each month.
Payments are generally issued on or about the 5th day of the following month for commissions earned during the previous calendar month.
If the scheduled payment date falls on a weekend or holiday, payment may be issued on the next available business day.
4. Payment Method
All commission payments are made by ACH Direct Deposit.
Before receiving payments, representatives must complete the required ACH Direct Deposit Authorization Form.
Payments will only be issued to the approved bank account provided during onboarding unless updated through Doms Mattress.
5. Tax Responsibility
Because you are an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own federal, state, and local taxes.
Doms Mattress does not withhold income taxes, Social Security, Medicare, or other payroll deductions from contractor commissions.
Representatives may be required to complete a W-9 or other applicable tax forms before payments can be issued.
If you have tax questions, consult a qualified tax professional.
6. No Guaranteed Income
This opportunity is performance-based.
There is no guarantee of sales, commissions, or income.
Results vary depending on many factors, including the number of apartment communities contacted, participation rates, resident purchases, and other factors outside the control of Doms Mattress.
7. Program Purpose
The Apartment Outreach Program is designed to create long-term opportunities by building relationships with apartment communities.
As more participating communities are established, future residents may continue receiving the Resident Welcome Flyer, creating recurring opportunities over time.
Building a larger network of participating communities generally creates greater long-term earning potential, although future sales are never guaranteed.
8. Contractor Responsibilities
- Represent Doms Mattress professionally.
- Follow the Apartment Outreach Training.
- Accurately maintain the outreach tracking spreadsheet.
- Only work within your assigned territory.
- Treat apartment managers respectfully.
- Do not make false or misleading statements.
- Do not promise guaranteed sales or income.
9. Confidentiality
Representatives may receive access to internal materials such as outreach tracking spreadsheets, training materials, and other business resources.
These materials are confidential and may not be shared, copied, distributed, or used outside of the Apartment Outreach Program without written permission from Doms Mattress.
10. Program Changes
Doms Mattress may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Apartment Outreach Program at its discretion.
When practical, representatives will generally receive advance notice by email regarding material program changes.
Nothing in this guide guarantees that the program will continue for any specific period of time.
11. Removal From The Program
Doms Mattress reserves the right to remove representatives from the Apartment Outreach Program for reasons including, but not limited to:
- Repeated or intentional duplicate territory claims.
- Falsifying outreach records.
- Misrepresenting the Resident Welcome Program.
